Education Projects

  1. Child Education – Green Academy Programme

The Green Academy Programme introduces children in Kameswaram to environmental stewardship through hands-on learning. Sessions on waste segregation, water conservation, hygiene, and nature appreciation build awareness from an early age, empowering children to become ambassadors of sustainability in their families and communities.

  1. Child Education – May Children’s Camp

Each year, FIN hosts a vibrant May Children’s Camp offering creative and educational activities during the summer holidays. Children explore art, games, environmental storytelling, and community values, strengthening their confidence, curiosity, and teamwork skills in a joyful learning environment.

  1. Child Education – Spoken English Classes

FIN’s Spoken English classes help rural children gain confidence in communication by practising simple conversations, vocabulary, and interactive activities. The classes are designed to be fun and accessible, opening pathways to better educational and professional opportunities.

  1. Child Education – Computer Skilling for Children

Through structured computer skilling classes, children learn essential digital skills—including typing, basic software use, and navigating educational tools. This early exposure prepares them for the digital world and supports academic success.

  1. Vocational Skilling – Tailoring Classes

FIN’s tailoring programme equips women and youth with practical stitching and design skills, enabling them to earn an income from home or to start micro-enterprises. The course covers blouse stitching, dressmaking, machine handling, and customer interactions, building both confidence and livelihood opportunities.

  1. Vocational Skilling – Digital Skilling (Jharkhand)

The Digital Skilling programme in Jharkhand provides young adults with training in basic computers, digital tools, and online communication. These skills enhance employability, support self-learning, and bridge the rural–urban digital divide.

  1. Research on India’s Water & Sanitation Missions

FIN’s staff and interns conduct structured research on India’s national missions for water, sanitation, and hygiene. Their work includes policy analysis, field observations, documentation of village practices, and preparation of knowledge materials that inform FIN’s interventions and contribute to broader understanding of WASH challenges.

  1. Internships – Online and Onsite

FIN offers immersive internships for national and international students, both online and in Kameswaram. Interns work on real-world projects in sanitation, environmental education, behavioural change, livelihood creation, and impact measurement. The internship emphasises co-design, independent thinking, and community engagement.

  1. Community Events – Beach Trash Walks

FIN regularly organises beach trash walks where volunteers, students, and villagers collect litter from the coastline. These events highlight the link between waste behaviour and ocean pollution, creating awareness and immediate environmental impact.

  1. Community Actions – Campaigns Against Ocean Waste

Through posters, discussions, school workshops, and village meetings, FIN runs campaigns urging citizens to stop dumping waste in water bodies. These efforts reinforce the importance of coastal protection and shared responsibility.

  1. Community Actions – Tree Planting

Tree-planting drives conducted by FIN help restore greenery in public spaces, improve air quality, and foster environmental responsibility among youth. Community members and schoolchildren actively participate, nurturing saplings and monitoring their growth.

  1. Community Workshops – Waste Management

FIN conducts practical workshops on waste segregation, composting, recycling, and hygienic household practices. These workshops improve community knowledge and encourage environmentally responsible behaviours in homes and public areas.

  1. National & International Webinars (World Water Day / World Toilet Day)

FIN hosts annual webinars featuring experts from India and abroad to discuss sanitation innovations, water security, behavioural change, and sustainability solutions. These events strengthen global dialogue and highlight FIN’s commitment to knowledge sharing.

  1. Workshops in Schools, Colleges & Public Places

Awareness sessions conducted by FIN in educational institutions and village centres introduce participants to sanitation, hygiene, environmental protection, and social responsibility. These interactive workshops create an informed and proactive citizenry.
