The Best letter of the year!!

Dear Ma’am,

I have always been open to doing social work and we do good charitable works in our family supporting an orphanage. But after coming to FIN Trust and being first an intern and then rising to become its Junior Manager, I see how social work can be combined with community engagement and learning so that its impact is increased much more.

One of the things I like about FIN’s activities is its trash walks. Your idea to promote Clean India along with digital skilling for the holistic development of children is wonderful. I am so happy that in our digital skilling centers, we are not only teaching youth how to use a computer, but we are also motivating them to make our country as clean as Singapore. So, let me tell you about the first experience of the FIN Ramgarh Digital Skilling Centre students.
The trash walk was eye-opening and mind-blowing. The students of the Digital skiling class were very happy and they felt such pride after doing social work. Students are now asking me “When will we go next?” to Maya Tungri, Ramgarh cantt Jharkhand (Temple on top of the mountain with 300+ stairs) for another trash walk.

We decided to clean the space just next to the railing to go up the stairs to the temple. People eat on the way up and just throw the packaging over the railing. And we collected 12 bags of waste and disposed of them. The trust of the temple also cleans the surroundings of the temple but the littering is so much, that it will not take even a week to get polluted after cleaning.

This problem can’t be tackled until and unless people change their behavior and take pride in not littering even the smallest piece of waste. We also tried to spread awareness for the same, I hope next time we can do it in a bigger way.

Thank you
Abhishek Pathak
